Good Rockin' Tonight
NEWSLETTER December 2006.
Hi Folks!
It's Christmas again, and another year almost over. YES, we know what you are thinking, sit down, get out the Brandy, Dell has got a newsletter out, ha ha!!

The GRT Club
The GRT club is going well, we have about 104 paid up members out of a possible 158, but it's always around that figure every year. Every little bit helps to keep Radio Caroline broadcasting every week! You can check your membership renewal date here.

The Show
Of course you know the show is on-air every Tuesday night, 7-10pm. UK time. Radio Caroline broadcasts to the UK and Europe on the Eurobird satellite at 28.5 degrees East, on the WorldSpace satellite to Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and on the Internet.
Full Details Here.

On the phones most weeks we have our ambassador "Rocking Jan", and sometimes my wife Karen. Roy, "the Professor", does not come down so often now because of the travelling, but he still helps out with adverts etc..

Guests
We had a great line up of guests this year, and here are a few of the original artists that came down to see us..... The Honeycombs, Cliff Bennett, John Leyton, Charlie Gracie, Russ Sainty & Wee Willie Harris. There were lots of modern groups and artists as well, like the Detours, Crazy Jay and The Partytimers, the Sugar Creek Trio, Furious, Johnny Red, Big Joe Louis, Charlie Thompson and Jive Street. We had many DJ's and weekender promoters, as well as club members!! We like to make each week different. Something for everybody!

Mike Parker
On a sad note we have to tell you about club member Mike Parker (0094) who sadly passed away this year. Mike loved the show, and rang in most weeks with a request. We had a special tribute night on the 28th November. Crazy Jay and the Partytimers came down to sing some of Mike's favourite songs. Jackie (Crazy Jay) is Mike's daughter. There is a great photo of Mike on the GRT members gallery.

Cloth Badge
We have a new cloth badge for sale to raise some more money for the club. It's the old round badge with a skull & crossbones from the old pirate days on Radio Caroline. The badges are black, white and red and measure about 8 cms across. They can be ironed on. The price is £2-50 each badge / cheques payable to D.Richardson. You can also buy the badge on-line at the Fury Records website which we are currently updating at www.fury-records.com. Please buy one and advertise your favourite radio station.
Full details here.

CD Catalogue
I think more listeners should take more advantage of the 20% discount on our catalogue. Most regular priced CD's will only cost GRT members £8.00 each with their discount. If you would like a catalogue sent to you, then e-mail us at furyrecords@btconnect.com or phone me on 01933 626945 (+44-1933-626945 from abroad) and ask for Dell.

Vinyl Records
Have you ever considered selling your old vinyl records? We would be willing to pay cash for singles, E.P.'s, L.P.'s and even 78's!! Phone Dell on 01933-626945. (+44-1933-626945 from abroad) Every few months we have a stall at the Luton Record Fair to raise money for Radio Caroline. We even have a stall at the giant Americana weekend in Newark, and you can see a great photo of my stall, with the big Radio Caroline banner, by clicking here.

We would like to thank the many Club members who have sponsored shows through 2006. You are the stars!! Also, a big thank you to Lin & John in Cheltenham who run this GRT website! (It's a pleasure - anything to help - Lin & John) All of us would like to wish our GRT members a Happy New Year in 2007!

That's all for now folks, from the GRT gang.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS! from DELL, KAREN, JAN & ROY
