"Real" Spanish Sangria

Put 2 to 3 tablespoons of Sugar in a large Punch Bowl. Add 150 ml (4 double measures) of cheap Brandy (never use Rum), 150 ml of Clear Banana Liqueur, and 150 ml of Cointreau.

Stir continuously until all the sugar has dissolved. Cut a Lemon, an Orange, a Banana, an Apple and a Pear into small pieces and add to the bowl. Add 250-300 ml (each) of Fanta and Sprite soft drinks, and 300 ml of Soda Water.

Pour in 700ml (a standard bottle) of cheap Red Wine, and add a lot of Ice Cubes. Add more sugar if desired, and stir till it dissolves.

You can use a cheap Champagne as an alternative to the Wine for a Sparkling Sangria. If it's too strong, then dilute it with more Soda Water and Ice.

Cheers!!

Poppy Seed Cake

Ingredients:

250 grams of Ground Poppy Seeds A Sachet of Vanilla Sugar
170 grams of Unsalted Butter A little Rum
80 grams of Powder Sugar (Caster Sugar) Some Grated Lemon Rind (Organic recommended, to avoid chemical spray residues)
6 Egg Yolks 6 Egg Whites
50 grams of Ground Chocolate 50 grams of sieved Flour
100 ml of Milk A small pinch of Salt
and 80 grams of Granulated Sugar if you prefer a Sweeter Cake

Mix the Butter, Caster Sugar, Vanilla Sugar, Rum, Salt and Lemon Rind. Add the Egg Yolks one by one, beating to a creamy texture.

Separately mix the Poppy Seed, Ground Chocolate, Flour and Milk, then add this mixture to the other mix.

Beat the Egg Whites till they are stiff (Adding the Granulated Sugar if you prefer a sweeter mix) and GENTLY fold this meringue into the mix with a spatula.

Pour the mix into a lightly buttered tin. Bake for about one hour at 160 Celcius (320 Fahrenheit) or 150 Celcius (300 Fahrenheit) in a Fan-Assisted Oven. DON'T open the door during cooking.

When it has cooled, remove it from the tin, and sprinkle with Caster Sugar or Whipped Cream.
